Five young American ballerinas — Bones (Maddie Ziegler), Princess (Lana Condor), Zoe (Iris Apatow), Chloe (Millicent Simmonds) and Avantika — are on their way to a prestigious international dance competition in Budapest. They can barely stand each other — fierce rivalries, jealousy and bitter personal history divide the group.
Their bus breaks down in the middle of a remote European forest at night. With no other options, they stumble upon the Teremok Inn — a remote, unsettling roadside establishment run by Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman), a reclusive former ballet prodigy with a mysterious past. From the moment they arrive, something feels very wrong.
Their suspicions prove right when a gang of ruthless armed mobsters arrives at the inn — and brutally murders their dance coach without warning. The girls find themselves trapped, hostage to Devora and her dangerous criminal associates. With no phones, no help and no way out — the five rivals must set aside every grudge and work together to survive.
What follows is a gloriously entertaining series of action sequences as the ballerinas weaponize their training — using the precision, flexibility, endurance and discipline of years of elite ballet to fight back against hardened criminals. Pointe shoes become weapons. Pirouettes become kicks. Their bodies, honed to perfection by brutal training, become their greatest tools for survival. The film climaxes in a spectacular all-out brawl set to classical music.
