The film opens with a brief recap of the first Bharathanatyam (2024). Sashi (Saiju Kurup) — a temple committee member who runs a side business convincing homeowners their problems are supernaturally solved — is back. His partner-in-everything is Subhash, a man constitutionally incapable of minding his own business.
The chaos this time begins when the family of the late Bharathan Nair discovers that the respected patriarch had been living a secret double life — he had a second wife and a son hidden away in the town of Srikandapuram. The entire dysfunctional family packs up and travels there to "settle affairs" — meaning they collectively plan to deal with this hidden family in the most chaotic way possible.
But what starts as a comedy of family embarrassment takes a sharp dark turn when a ghost from the dead patriarch's past resurfaces. Old secrets lead to an unexpected crime — and suddenly this family vacation becomes something far more sinister, dangerous and hilarious all at once. The film masterfully walks the fine line between dark comedy and genuine thriller, never losing its family drama roots.
Director Krishnadas Murali is credited with pulling off one of Malayalam cinema's rarest achievements — a sequel that is definitively better than the original. Critics praised the shift from pure comedy to dark comedy thriller as "butter smooth." The ensemble cast — particularly Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jagadish and Baby Jean — are in absolutely top form throughout!
