🎬 The Legendary Reunion — After Bhool Bhulaiyaa!
Bhooth Bangla marks the return of director Priyadarshan to Hindi horror-comedy — his last being the iconic Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). Remarkably, the cast reunion is almost identical — Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani and Manoj Joshi all return together, giving the film a deeply nostalgic energy that fans have been waiting nearly two decades for.
Bhooth Bangla (meaning "Haunted House") is set in a mysterious, ancient haveli that has been abandoned for decades. The film follows a group of people who find themselves trapped inside this haunted mansion — with a non-believer at the centre of the story, played by Akshay Kumar. His character is a sharp, skeptical man who dismisses all things supernatural — until the Bangla reveals its terrifying secrets.
The film is rooted in Indian mythology and black magic, drawing inspiration from ancient texts including the Vedas and the Mahabharata. The haunted house is not just a setting — it has a dark history tied to forgotten rituals and supernatural forces that begin to manifest as the story unfolds.
Tabu plays a pivotal and mysterious role — the film keeps her character's nature deliberately secret in all promotional material. Wamiqa Gabbi plays the female lead in what is her first film with Akshay Kumar. The legendary comedy trio of Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani provide the film's trademark slapstick chaos — promising the same energy that made Bhool Bhulaiyaa a cult classic.
Screenplay was written by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan. The music is composed by Pritam — his first collaboration with Priyadarshan. The first song "Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge" (sung by Armaan Malik) released on February 26, 2026 and became an instant hit. The trailer is set to release attached to Dhurandhar 2 from March 19 in theatres.
