📖 STORY & PLOT
Set in the dark and dangerous underbelly of Mumbai, 1995, O Romeo is a gritty crime romance directed by the legendary Vishal Bhardwaj. The film follows Hussain "Ustara" (Shahid Kapoor) — a feared gangster and hitman known for killing his targets with a barber's razor. Cold, calculated, and untouchable, Ustara works as a secret weapon for Intelligence Officer Ismail Khan (Nana Patekar).
Everything changes when a mysterious and desperate woman named Afshan (Triptii Dimri) walks into Ustara's hideout with a deadly request — she wants him to eliminate three powerful men, including the notorious gangster Jalal. Ustara refuses. But when Afshan's reckless attempt to take matters into her own hands puts her life at risk, Ustara saves her — and in doing so, seals his own fate.
What begins as a dangerous alliance slowly transforms into a complex, passionate, and fatal love story. Inspired by the real-life tale from the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, O Romeo blends poetry with violence, love with betrayal — in true Vishal Bhardwaj style. With music by Bhardwaj and lyrics by Gulzar, the film is a cinematic experience unlike any other.
