In the city of Beaverton, Oregon, young animal lover Mabel Tanaka has always had a deep bond with nature — especially the forest glade near her childhood home where her grandmother once took her. After her grandmother's death, Mabel has been fighting to protect that glade from being demolished by the city's smooth-talking mayor, Jerry Generazzo (Jon Hamm), who wants to replace it with a freeway.
When Mabel discovers that her biology professor Dr. Sam (Kathy Najimy) and her team have invented a revolutionary technology — the ability to "hop" human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals — she immediately seizes the opportunity. Transferring her mind into a robotic beaver, Mabel enters the animal world for the very first time.
Inside the animal kingdom, she befriends the charismatic, lovable beaver king King George (Bobby Moynihan) — the funny heart of the film. As Mabel explores deeper, she uncovers that the animals are under serious threat — and the glade may be hiding secrets bigger than anyone imagined. Together, Mabel and King George must rally the entire animal kingdom to stop the mayor's destructive plans before it's too late!
