Eight months after winning the Call Your Shot Gauntlet, Nic Nemeth finally cashed in his championship opportunity against Mike Santana in the Slammiversary main event. The match was a brutal, emotional war — Santana, bleeding heavily from the head, fought through wave after wave of Nemeth's superkicks. With his TNA contract reportedly expiring in mid-July, this was billed as one of Santana's final appearances for the company, and he gave the Boston crowd everything he had.
